Well, as CNET and countless other news sources have reported, speculations are on the rise as to the possible existence of an iPad Mini. Apple also sent out invitations to a special event set for October 23, cryptically stating, “We’ve got a little more to show you.”

The event will take place at the California Theater in San Jose, just one block from where its trial with Samsung took place. Even before releasing the original iPad, the company was rumored to be working on a smaller version. But it wasn’t until smaller tablets from competitors began receiving critical acclaim that the pressure on Apple increased to actually produce a similar option.

Leaked photos of what appears to be the iPad Mini have popped up all over the Internet, as well as an email thread between top Apple executives discussing the viability of a 7-inch model. Rumors are also flying that Apple is introducing a 13-inch model of its Retina Display MacBook Pro… but is all (or any) of this speculation true?

I guess we’ll find out on October 23!
