Hot Industry News: Atari Hits 40

Can you believe that Atari just celebrated its 40th birthday? It's true!

Known for launching the video game industry, Atari brought Pong, Centipede, Pac-Man and more to our living rooms.

Started with a mere $500, the company grew quickly, earning $2 billion in sales within 10 years. Both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs worked for the company - Gates was even fired by them!

Now owned by a Paris-based holding company, co-founder Nolan Bushnell is back with Atari in an advisory role, saying that the "brand is till powerful, and it's not just a retro thing."

Happy Birthday, Atari!
